An all-new BMW S1000RR is coming in 2019

Quote:
2019 BMW S1000RR Designs Revealed

...the revolution starts here. The 2019 S1000RR, shown in detail in these patent images, is a completely new bike. Virtually nothing is carried over from its predecessor and every indication is that it’s set to be as big of a leap forward as the original S1000RR was back in 2009.

Still no single sided swing-arm... That's a deal breaker for me.... Still.. it should be interesting.

Re: An all-new BMW S1000RR is coming in 2019

Just this morning I was speaking with Max BMW and they said BMW confirmed no real changes to the 2019 model. So next month when they bring the bike to the show we will know for sure.

Re: An all-new BMW S1000RR is coming in 2019

Interesting read and it'll be exciting to find out exactly what improvements BMW has made to the engine. Im glad they got rid of the asymmetrical headlights since in my opinion they looked dumb. Also be interesting to find out how the new RR will compare to the new Ducati V4 and Aprilia RSV4.

Re: An all-new BMW S1000RR is coming in 2019

I'm not sure why they'd bring a whole new bike out publicly now for release "sometime in late 2019." It seems like that would kill the sales of the current model bike if there are big changes coming in roughly the same price point.

Now, what would be interesting is if they released a premium model S1000RR that had some of the components from the Race. Factory CF wheels maybe?

I like the way you think... I'd also like to see an S1000S with optional hardbags. A dedicated sport-touring bike to fill the void left by the K1300S.. Damn that would be a game changer

Re: An all-new BMW S1000RR is coming in 2019

I have a 2016 S1000S. It's just an RR with Hepco Becker side bags, an Ogio seat bag a Wunderlich tank bag, Helibars and a Saddlemen seat. Plus a 5L dry bag strapped under the rear frame holding chain lube, portable rear stand, some tools and a tire kit. Have taken many the same trips as on the several K1300S' over the years without any issues.

I doubt the new model will hurt current RR sales, I think plenty of folks will take advantage of discounts on 2018 RR's and not care about improvements on the 2019's. I took advantage of $2500 worth of discounts/incentives on a 2018 GS eventhough I knew the R1250GS was imminent. Saving 2500 dollars on a 2018 GS was more important to me than upgrades on the 2019 GS.

Another source from Germany:

https://www.motorradonline.de/motorr...9.1027914.html

They say the information came from the Chinese Patent Office.

It seems to be heavily channeling the mighty KS, from the mirrors to the stupidly oversized can. I image that given the gigantic metal box underneath the bike, you can delete the muffler completely. MCN dubbed a rider onto it, shouldn't be long before we can find picks with luggage dubbed on.
